The complete lineup is just about confirmed for the 25th Annual Folks Festival and we're pretty proud and excited about who'll be joining us along the St. Vrain this August...

Mark your calendar: This Friday, April 24, we'll be announcing the complete single-day lineup and putting single-day tickets onsale.  It'll be a big day.

In the next few days leading up to this single-day lineup announcement we'll be sharing 4 of the younger artists who are each making their Planet Bluegrass debuts at this year's Folks Festival (similar to this year's Telluride Bluegrass "Behind Door Number 1" reveals).  Keep an eye here and on Facebook for info about each of these newer artists.

It should be a fun week of Folks Fest dreaming...

I like it.  Lets build this excitement.  Time for me to learn who my new favorites are.   Headphones

Over the past few years, some of the up and comers at Folks Fest have become favorites: Hurray for the Riff Raff, Lucius, Seryn, Danielle Ate The Sandwich, all the way back to Joe Pug in 09.

What you got Brian?  Open that door.  BTW it was nice chatting with you briefly on Friday night.  That was a fun show in the Wildflower!

Nate Grant <----Loves spring PB announcements, gets you more excited for summer festivation!

Hey Nate!  That's a great list of favorite Folks Fest up-and-comers!  We'll try to add a few more to your collection this year...

I should add that in addition to these newer artists, Friday's complete single-day lineup announce will also include a couple additional headliners that we're VERY excited about... Wink

Nice, excitement is building... Can I put in a request for The Lone Bellow.  Ah it may be too late for requests, well that is one I am hoping for.  I am certain I will be happy with whoever it is.   Cheers

We love The Lone Bellow!  Their set at last year's Telluride Bluegrass was fantastic, as was their impromptu setbreak performance in the middle of the crowd.

Alas, we didn't have the right spot for them on this year's Folks Fest lineup. But they'll remain high on our list for future years.  What a great band!

Yeah I streamed their TBF set last year (frankly I streamed the whole Festival) and they instantly became a favorite and a staple on my playlists since.  Thanks as always!

OK Brian you popped up in the middle of the night with yesterday's announcement. And now today you are going to make us wait?  huh I mean it is already 8:45 in the morning.  Evil

Out with it.  My ears need more awesomeness.  Thumbs Up

Also based on the above Lone Bellow video, (thanks for posting the BTW, awesome) am I to assume all "impromptu" setbreak performances at TBF have a professional film crew at the ready?  I thought so.

FESTIVAALLLsssss!!!!

Thanks for the excitement, Nate!   Thumbs Up

We've got one more "newer artist" announcement today, which Steve is will be posting shortly.

Then tomorrow morning we'll share the complete single-day lineup which will include 4 more additions - artists who have helped shape the festival over the past 25 years.

(As for that Lone Bellow video... For such a gorgeous-looking video, the whole thing really was pretty impromptu: one camera, one soundguy, and me wandering around the crowd looking for an open spot for them to perform.  It all just unfolded naturally from there... Pretty cool.)

Thanks Brian!
Guessing is fun(and I'm hoping.) I'll say John Prine, Ani D, Greg Brown and Brandi? Though 3 of those were there last year so that seems unlikely.
Either way looking forward to it. Thanks for the build up!

Nice guesses.  And certainly all artists that have been important to the festival.  But as you suspected, we thought it was a little too soon for each of them (each have played in the last 2 years)...

All I'll say is that each of the first 3 years in Lyons will be represented.   Wink
