Who would you like to see at Folks Festival?

They'll be out west this summer and would be a great new addition to the Folks Family.

We would LOVE to see Richard Shindell at the Folks festival!  We've been coming 11 straight years and love the fest.  Richard is so fabulous and would be a super addition to he festival. I know sometimes his music has been played from the speakers at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons during the breaks, but we'd love to see and hear the real thing!  Candace from California

I so agree with Richard Shindell.  I think he is amazing, bu I've never seen him play around here.  Cockburn would be awesome, I've seen him a lot, and he is no stranger to these parts.  Saw him at the Denver Botanic Gardens last summer and he was tremendous. 

I m excited to see Amos Lee on Friday night, and of course, Greg Brown.  KT Tunstall I can do without though.

Billy Jonas- and for Song School specifically, too!  Bring him back, he is wonderful, and one of the few that those of us who are not really guitar-driven can jump in with!

A belated thank-you for bringing in Darnielle to replace Dylan.  I saw the full Mountain Goats a few years ago in SF and became a full-fledged acolyte.  Thought his set was great.  If what the poster on this thread said about Dylan playing with Clapton in Germany is true, well, that doesn't qualify as a legit reason to cancel.  Illness, family emergency, but one of the key rules is to "Dance with them what brung ya," and you don't cancel an appearance for a better offer.  Oh well, we got BETTER quality with Darnielle than we would with Dylan.

Future years? Shindell is a good idea, Richard Buckner, Deertick, Kimya Dawson, Pual Baribeau, Diane Cluck (she played in Colorado Springs a while back and she's GREAT).

I'd like to eat apple butter while listening to Leo Kottke!   I saw him a few years ago - I second the suggestion.    I picture him playing a lazy early afternoon slot, if that makes any sense.

I have a suggestion - William Elliot Whitmore.   I would love to hear his awesome powerful voice bouncing through the panet bluegrass.   I saw him open for a heavy rock band (the mighty Clutch), and he comes out with just a banjo (he definitely wasn't "preaching to the choir") and converted the crowd.  Iowa farm boy.
