Well it's hot down under and I have spent the summer surfing and immersing myself in songs purchased via recommendations from this forum. What a feast! I'm still working my way through suggested bands and performers but I'm going to say it now. I had never heard of them a month ago but Greensky has captured my heart. I sing along to Demons maybe ten times a day.  Cannot wait till TBF to see them live ( along with all the other talent)

Now Playing icon Listening to: Um, that would be Greensky Bluegrass

Can't say enough how much I love this band!!!!  Their nightgrass shows the last 3 years have been the musical highlight of the festival for me (taking shots with phoff also amazballs).  To second petefrane, I have to put my face back together after every show of theirs.   :burn  Cheers

It's impossible not to love well selected covers.  And that set had a ton ...

I only wish I would have got there earlier, since it wasn't loud enough in the back.

I looked for a live version of this set on archive.org, but wasn't there.  Anybody got a copy???

I've known their dobro player Anders for years before he joined the band. Sometimes he stays in my guest/storage tent in Town Park when they play there.

I'm sure he'll stop by and visit at least. Wave

I'd like to throw in a suggestion!  Look up Robert Earl Keen.  He's awesome!!  Try his "Best" album to hear the fan favorites.  The song "Feeling Good Again" is my favorite tune of all time.

it's impossible not to love gsbg

i was super blessed to be in colorado for pearl jam in october(2014), for a week of touring around, and some other rock shows. greeensky bluegrass played at the ogden in denver the night before we left to go home. we scoped out the vids on utube and made the decision to go to the show. without a doubt they are one of my favorite bands these days. met paul and anders before the show and they were the nicest people even tough i couldn't put 2 words together other than to say i love you guys...

going into the show i had bought and knew handguns, 5 interstates and if sorrow swims. now i have a couple more of their older cds to learn for the upcoming show at TBF. they are the band i'm most excited to see...that's been announced so far. i really really hope sam bush joins them for a couple of songs

also a side note...so this elks stage is not part of the festival yet the have free shows there. when does that schedule come out. we know gsbg is playing the TBF but i assume they are playing in the festival. saw they did a nightgrass show last year. hoping for a repeat there or at least more than one chance sighting while in town in june

Elks Park is absolutely part of the festival. It's held in town right across the street from the court house and is free whether you have a ticket or not. 90% percent of the acts that play there are also on the main stage. Sometimes you'll get acts there that aren't scheduled for the main stage, but it doesn't happen every year. In addition to the well established acts, they also hold the preliminary round of the band contest there, which is always a ton of fun. It's not official that Greensky will be playing Elks, but it is likely.
