I just want to post my sincere appreciation to the folks behind the forum and the festival. It is so much fun to be able to chat and hear from the TBF greats on this forum. It is still six months away but I feel like we have friends waiting to catch up already. Love the way PBG teases us with announcements re the lineup. And I adore the music sharing, we play something new every day thanks to the suggestions we pick up here. It's a terrific little community of souls. Love waking up, logging onto the forum and catching up with the next exciting instalment. The excitement keeps building. Thanks for the wonderful welcome. There is more than a little bit of magic around this event.

Just wait until you get to Telluride. Thumbs Up

You'll soon learn that there is a magic about that town, the scenery, and the people. Love

Better start saving your money. You will be back again and again and it will be worth the flight. Come a few days early if you can. It is quite beautiful in Telluride and when you add in the music and people it only gets better. You are going to fit right in. Medal
We love ya already! Cheers

Camp Run a Muck

URL icon « Reply #5 on: December 18, 2014, 02:01:31 AM »

I was no longer a festivirgin by the time I encountered this forum, but I was only one year into my life-long affair with Telluride Bluegrass. I say life-long though I'm only 23 and have only been to 7 fests, but the spirit exhibited by the festivarians, both those on this forum and those I didn't meet until years into my TBF residency, got me hooked. Through this forum, I have met so many incredible people and have found a year round home that presents itself most strongly during the week and a half that is The Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

Australlia Fan, there are many of us who feel the same way you do, and I, for one, cannot wait to meet you and toast to yet another Aussie becoming a member of the TBF family. Make sure when you arrive on Wednesday and you are still allowed into to Town Park to make your way to Camp Run A Muck. Ask around and you'll be given directions. I'll give you a hug, Hooch will make fun of your accent and the rest of the Run a Muck family will greet you with open arms, all while Billy Beru insists you take your first crunchy frog, which may ruin you for life (we'll make you agree to a disclaimer first!). It's not so bad. Billy B insisted I take my first frog four years ago and I'm still standing!

Thank you, I cannot wait. I feel like I know you too. And we have town camp passes so we will be in there with Camp Run a Muck for at least some of the time. I'm trying to imagine what interesting little Australian thing I can introduce to the Towncamp...maybe Vegemite?  At the very least we will teach you a few Aussie words. And I agree with you, the people on this forum are so kind, so generous, it is like the best of humanity...plus there is all the great music........so glad we stumbled into grace here

HS, I think Bevin has made us honourary Camp Run A Muck members in 2015 so I promise we will be catching up in real life. First crunchy frog coming up!

I'm pretty sure Bevin made you an honorary member of Camp DukTape (featuring Totally Lit) since that's his tribe.  They have a different set of standards for their camp (higher, more respectable, less ass-slappy) than Camp Run-A-Muck.  But have no fear (or have fear), because we intermingle freely without any checkpoints between boarders.  We also have an open-trade agreement if you are into haggling.

I completely read that as DukTape, not Run a Muck. I should stop drinking and foruming. It doesn't end well . . .

As the mayor of Town Park (and honorary member of all the camps) you will be welcomed with open arms.
Just watch the hands of the end of Hooch's arms. LOL
I try not to let my constituents get too out of control, but some are bit harder to control than others. Wink
I must admit, there have been times I too lost a bit of control due to the rum balls. Cheers

Run-a-muck is right next to the mayors mansion (Town Hall camp) so stop on by when you get into town. Thumbs Up

Oh no, what a diplomatic faux pas! Duk Tape is NOT Run a Muck! Oh my god. We are honourary Duk tapers, you are correct ( sorry Bevin). I promise to visit each and every camp to say sorry...and try your secret wares!

You're in for a treat. The people, the music and the scenery make this a very special event. Be prepared for any kind of weather, wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and you;ll have the time of your life.
