After announcing a victory lap tour to end his performing career, Dr. Ralph Stanley seems to have reconsidered.

From the DRS website:

Dr. Ralph Stanley will NOT be retiring this year. Even though this was the original plan, Dr. Stanley still is feeling great and going strong.

He is to me  the most authentic Bluegrass man alive! He knows when and how much to a T! I need to hear him live a few more times before he can retire. Excellent!

this is great news.

he'll be back at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass next Sunday for the 9th time in the past 11 years!

what a beautiful way to spend Sunday Afternoon in SF.

He seems to know his limitations and works with them courtesy his great band; glad to hear Dr. Stanley will keep going!!
