If you're staying at a condo or hotel, they'll frequently have separate parking for you closer to where you're staying.

Hi fivetornadoes

I think some of the free workshops at Elks Park (in the middle of town) can provide some of the festivals highlights.

so a couple of questions...i'm sure it will be easier asking ya'll

is it 1 festival ticket needed for all shows? or are there a bunch of side shows that are ticketed as well. i don't need to see/go to any workshops as i'm not a musician, just a "music lover", as cesar rosas would say!

what are the chances i can get a ticket when they go on sale? as i don't want to book a place to stay now and lay down a deposit unless i can for sure get a ticket. i did read that it sold out last year

lastly i plan on driving to telluride(from denver airport) and parking the car in town for 3 days=not driving anywhere. so, am i A OK with a room on main street in telluride. ie) will it be walking distance to all i need?

thanks!!

Parking in town is free once you arrive.  You will either park in town at car henge or up on the ski hill.  Either way, you will not need a car your whole stay.  All is walking distance, and there are shuttles if you need, too (also free).

If you have lodging in town you will either get a barrier pass or have to park your vehicle for the duration.
There are parking meters throughout town if you're using your car to shop around, but everything is pretty much within walking distance so there's no need once you get parked. Cars parked on the streets that don't have parking meters will be required to have a barrier pass during the festival.

The lottery is upon us and we are going to apply. My question is, if we are so lucky, can the camping pass or 4-day festival pass be separated? For instance they already have a 4 day pass, but need only the camping.
Thanks,

Nope. Town Park and Warner Field cannot be separated from the four day pass. If someone has both a Town Park and a four day, they'd need to sell the four day.

thanks to bluegrassbrian re the post about the lottery being now open !!

and it's time for another question! if i may.

town park is going to be my #1 choice for entry but can someone please tell me the main difference(s) between warner field and the town park. showers are at town park only(so i read)

i would assume they let u know if u won the lottery before the regular on sale date for tickets.

Really, the only difference is that Warner field is a baseball field, so there's no shade and special rules about stake length, glass, grilling, and maybe a couple of other small things

Town Park is a campground, so there are pre-determined campspots and lots of lovely trees for shade.   When Planet Bluegrass takes over we no longer respect the campsites, and camp on every square inch of ground, but we still get the trees :)

They connect, adjoin, and co-mingle.

Warner Field is something of a sub-set of Town Park.  It is part of and within Town Park, and WF ticket holders access the same showers and bath houses as Town Park ticket holders.  The main difference is where you put up your tent, which is actually on the baseball field.  If you have a Warner wristband then the drinking and wandering about parts of your weekend happen all over the entire Town Park area, but the sleeping part is done only on the baseball field.

One really nice thing about Warner is that you camp on a beautiful bed of grass.
