Pastor Mustard (aka Dan Sadowsky) just did a wonderful 15 minute interview with Telluride Inside & Out about his early days at TBF and about the writing of the upcoming book.

Here's the complete post:

And here's a direct link to the soundcloud audio for the interview:

"When we played in 1975... the whole thing kinda looked like the Kon-Tiki, thrown together with native logs and rhubarb fiber.  Pretty strange and wonderful.  But we didn't care - Telluride was unbelievable."

Great stuff!

I almost cried reading that article about 40 years of TBF. I am so happy Colo Springs had the Meadow Grass music festival last month...which led me to TBF and all you great people who have been rocking this festival for so long.   :peace

The book is fantastic! So many great photos and tons of great history. And it's a high quality printing. Most retailers would have sold something of that quality for something between $75 and $100 (I used to work in a book store and my roommate manages one), but The Planet sold it for $50! I talked to some of the Planet staff and found out that they barely marked it up. This book really was a labor of love and gift to us, the festivarians, as apposed to a pure revenue creating project. Thank you to everyone who made this happen!

I'm glad they had Meadowgrass!   We went last year, and Tessa & the kids have gone a couple of other times with a friend down there.   I had heard the site had survived the fire, but I hadn't heard if the fest went on this year.  That's good news!

I bought the book this year and am loving looking at the pictures. Can you imagine my delight when I found myself in the picture of the monks pouring the mandala sands into the stream last year (2013)? I was taking a picture of the monks when that photograph was taken. It's really cool to look at the picture in the book and then see my photo. Proof of the endless synchronicities that happen during FESTIVAAAAAALL.

The person I spoke to at PB said they thought the internet orders will ship tomorrow, although not 100% sure.  If sent media mail should be 4-8 days CONUS.
