Troubadours

I love it when the troubadour finalists are announced. Checking their websites and listening to new music is a great warmup to the fest. I don't always hear many of them at the fest, and I've found some musicians I really like among the troubadours. I think it is fantastically wonderful that the Planet has these contests!
I've always wondered why they announce the troubadour finalists and honorable mentions ahead of time, but we never know who the band contest finalists are until the fest. Anyone know why the band contest finalists aren't announced ahead of time? Just wondering. Guess I'm getting Telluride eager and wanting to check out a lot of new music!
