This is 8 years for me- never been an issue.  And to not get ANY tickets is unbelievable.

I wouldn't get too worried, yet. I have a charge on my card, but haven't received an email letting me know what tickets I have or have not received. PB said we would know today. I hope that is still the case.

Not very happy with the new lottery system this year.

I have never missed or had issues getting tickets to CC or the Palm- which are the only shows I care about going to.

PB- why did you make these tickets lottery?  Now people are just going to use them to barter and trade for what they want.   If it isn't broken- why change it.  This is 8 years for me- never been an issue.  And to not get ANY tickets is unbelievable.

Same here. Just got my rejection email. Every other year I have easily been able to get tickets for the Palm and CC. Pretty bummed to request 4 nights and get nada, especially since the system seemed like it was working just fine.

I got a rejection email.  Already seeing people trading tickets for tickets.  Just don't understand why the 2 venues that have never even sold out first day are now lottery.  To make everything at this festival lottery take the fun away from actually trying for tickets to the shows you want.  I guarantee people put in for as much as possible to just get something to have to trade or go to.

I agree! So what if they sold out in 2 hours. The people who get on right away get them. At least we got to go to a show every night last year and it was the shows we wanted to go to (though it would be cool to go to the Sheridan). Got the rejection email. Neither my husband or I got anything. Only one person out of our group of friends got anything.  EEK!

I love this festival and most everything about it. With that said, it seems like PB has created an issue that was not there prior to the new lottery system. I have a feeling that you're going to see a lot of these tickets on secondary websites and being sold by people that are not even going to Telluride. I got every ticket that I put in for last year and this year I got 2 out of 5 nights.

I be happy with 2 out of 5, got nothing. It seems like people are getting 2-3 nights and others nothing. Anyone just get 1 of their requests?

I got my email.  Aoiffe, Lone Bellow and Punch Bros.  I put in 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices anywhere I could - the offerings were that good.  I also put in for Del or Tim & Darrell, and for a Yonder CC ticket, but I'm very excited to get these three shows!

I was skunked in every other Planet Bluegrass lottery I entered this year (Rockygrass, Telluride and the Academy), so I'm relieved to get lucky in this one.

I'm really surprised that some people didn't get any tickets at all.  I hope scalpers haven't entered the lottery, but maybe demand really is that high.  That said, you can almost always get Nightgrass tickets through other festivarians on the boards here, and you have an even better chance at the festival when people find that they're too tired to make their shows.  Best of luck to all!

Well I guess im a happy camper - got the 2 gsb tickets i was ultimately after but yeah it's odd how there are so many folks who got shut out and then a handful who somehow got tickets to nearly everything they put in for . . .

I am pretty confident that I will get tix to some shows, still very annoying. Like I said it seems like people are either getting quite a few or none.

I'll put it out there... 2 for Yonder CC and 2 for Del and we'd be happy (Leftover at the Sheridan though not banking  on that) Also would really like Greensky  Flower

I think AND HOPE that the lottery is of such little value to the scalpers that most of the tickets are going to regular TBFestivarians.  I think you'll see a lot more horse trading on this site, not via Craigslist, cuz the scalpers ain't gonna get much profit on $30 tickets.

Perhaps the only way around this is to have a nightgrass ticket lottery AT the Festival.  Afterall, Nightgrass is supposed to be for Festivarians, not the general public.  Conduct it Thursday at noon so the winners would have plenty of time to make their plans.  As for the Wednesday night concert, you could make that first come, first served, with sales starting during the FirstGrass concert.

I'm hoping a lot of people did what I did:  I put in for something every night knowing that I only wanted Wednesday night Yonder tickets.  Had I scored anything else, I was going to use them to trade for Wednesday Yonder.  I guess it's OK that I didn't win anything, though, cuz I'm hoping that a couple of Yonders will come sliding my way!  If not, TP will be hopping after FirstGrass so I'll have fun no matter what.

I def congrats to anyone that got tickets to the smaller venues.  I wouldn't have been surprised to not get those.  Its the large venues that have never been lottery that I don't understand.

At least do some lottery/presale and then save the rest for the people who want to get on and try their luck.  Just very disappointed.

I am sure I will be able to get tickets to the shows I want to go- just thought with all the tickets I went for I should at least end up with 1 ticket to something.

I think the lottery does encourage people to over-enter.  I'm feeling a bit sheepish, as I'm one of those people, but I would, literally, have been happy with whatever they gave me.  (Darn you, Planet, for putting on so many great shows this year!)  Last year, I only entered for one lonely ticket to the Punch Bros show and got denied.  However, I did find an amazing festivarian who sold me his two extras so my friend Trevor could come along and see them for the first time.  The ticket situation will shake itself out, and in just a couple of months, I bet most of you will be having your faces melted by the Nightgrass show of your choice.  But yeah - the big lottery seems to create some chaos.

My brother and I put in for shows everynight (in some cases multiple shows).  He was completely shut out.   I got tickets for YMSB at the CC, but nothing else.  Based on some other posts, I guess I was lucky...

Perhaps they need to change the lottery next year so people without a ticket are getting a chance before others get a second or third set of tickets.

I personally prefer a lottery over having to have a working internet connection and free time during a certain 15 minute window.
