Thats interesting Hot Sugar . I forgot Salmon went through the whole breakup and then reunion and then back together . 25 YEARS FOR YONDER !! Thats a long time together . I think it sounds like they all need a break . A lot of bands break up and then get back together . I think if Yonder splits for awhile and then reforms I think the band will be much stronger and refreshed . Its all good .

Just checking out some of the shows sans Jeff from winter tour where they had Ronnie McCoury and Jason Carter sit in. I'm really impressed! Figure we will get treated to a McCoury Mountain String Band show at the CC this year? I sure hope so!!

I've done the same and I completely agree with you.  I love what McCoury and Carter did during their shows with YMSB. The addition of the fiddle is a great dimension.  And of course, how can you not like the Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas shows, as well as many others.

While I will miss Jeff's energy and certain of his songs, I look forward to all of the collaborations that we will undoubtedly get to see in Telluride (and elsewhere).  I know others have been concerned that there is little future without Jeff.  I completely disagree.  Its not as if Jeff wrote 80 or 90% of the music.  Ben, Adam and Dave all write and sing!  Long live Yonder!

I felt that way at first and when I started thinking about it more it's purely that when the lead singer leaves it very notably changes the sound, especially since Jeff has a unique voice, but I think the biggest thing I worried about was that they wouldn't have the same stage presence without him. For me, I know they have the talent musically to go on without Jeff but I hope that they find a way to keep the energy because that is one of things that really draws me in to Yonder.

I agree, LONG LIVE YONDER!

I wouldn't consider Jeff to have been the lead singer. I would call him the front man, but I don't think he sings more than Ben does. And Adam and Dave both sing plenty of songs, too.

Well yes tomato, tomAHto... Lead singer is the same thing as front man in my brain.

Yeah, from what I understand Paul McCartney used to be in a band, too.

Lets start some wild speculation on who Jeff's replacement will be.  I'll say Jake Jolliff of the recently disbanded Joy Kills Sorrow will get the spot.

I've heard Robin Davis's name thrown out by fans. I think he'd make an excellent replacement.

Sounds like we are getting the McCoury Mountain String Band for all three shows, per the ymsb Facebook page. I'll be at the cc and mainstage shows. Ronnie and JC will make for some great shows!!!

It's going to be amazing!!! At Delfest Yonder played Friday with Jerry Douglas and I forget who else. Jeff played Saturday and Sunday with Traveling McCoury's and Cheese. Kinda weird, but it was sweet. Guess Jeff didn't get the invite to come to Telluride to be their "artist at large".  Cheers Flower

That is some good news. Add in the annual Sam Bush sit in on the mainstage and we're in for one incredible show.
