Do the Nightgrass shows typically start at 11 pm?

I've only been fortunate enough to win Punch Bros tickets in the lottery, which was several years ago.  That year the Punch Bros did not go on until well after midnight.

I'm trying to get a sense as to whether or not I really need to choose between the last act on the main stage and a night grass show, or whether the night grass doesn't really get started until well after the advertised 11 pm start time.

Surely some of you on this Board have more nightgrass experience.

Do the nightgrass shows typically start on time?

On this show Aoife O'Donovan & Chatham County Line (Friday @ Moon), are Chatham County Line backing her or are they each playing a seperate set? Her with her own band?

Aoife will be backed by her own (killer) band.  So they'll be playing separate sets, though y'never know what collaborations might emerge.

Yes.

Each band will play their own set.

How hard to you think it will be to sell extras at face. I'm thinking about having everyone in my group of three put in for 3 so we would only need one win. If we all get lucky we would end up with 6 extra... I'd rather have too many than not enough though.

In the past, it's normally been fairly easy to purchase OR sell a wed yonder ticket ... unloaded mine last year without much problem.  While I believe it sold out faster than years past last year, I still think the supply/demand equation allowed for a friendly aftermarket in either direction.   It'll be interesting to see what happens this year, now that it's being subject to a lottery.  One might think that the supply/demand ratio will still be similiar to the past, but if everyone does what you're contemplating ... it might shift the aftermarket dynamic a bit.  There might be more extras in the hands of more people who simply want to insure their admittance, in addition to those who (erroneously) believe the cc tix might serve as trade bait for other shows.

All excellent points. I don't see the tickets being any harder to get a hold of than years past, but the lottery system might turn this particular concert into a buyer's market. As FOM said, if everyone tries what English Martin is planning for the Conference Center, that ticket could become more difficult to unload. I don't think the lottery will make it more difficult to find tickets for this show, but I think it is a possibility that some people will end up selling their extra tickets below face just to get rid of them. My recommendation if you do end up with extras is to do your best to sell them on the forum before you get to the festival.

Yeah, I think your recommendation is spot on ... things should sort themselves out if people sell their extras sooner rather than later.

Missing the first part of a Nightgrass show in order to
see the end of the main stage seems to be a no-brainer.
Arrived into both Greensky and Peart during first
set and had 2 plus hours of music after arrival.
To each his own but it's a non-issue IMO.

What are going to be the hardest tickets to get? I know the shows at the Sheridan Opera House are obviously difficult, but the Palm Theatre doesn't look like a huge place either. I feel that the Del 75th Bday ticket may be just as difficult as the others. This is my first year attending so I want to make sure I get at least some of my requests and know whats going to be difficult.

Im hoping to get Yonder Wed, LoS Thur, YMSB or GSBG Fri, and Del Saturday. I wish everyone luck including myself!

Thanks for the responses.  I've picked YMSB, LOS, GLBG or YMSB, and Del.  fingers crossed.  Good luck all!

Hey moeron221, have you ever seen Floodwood?  How do they compare to YMSB, RRE, LOS, GSBG? or moe. for that matter?

If I could get lucky, one show I would really want to get tickets for is Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen. These guys are incredible musicians. Mike Munford is an excellent banjo player, and they have a 22 year old guitar player called Chris Luquette who is quite impressive. Check them out, they may be one of the gems of Telluride this year. Plus, Frank is an ex-Navy man, too. Have a listen:

I put in for Salmon on Thursday, Yonder on Friday and Tim and Darrell on Saturday. If I don't get a few of them, I'll work on getting CC or Palm tickets later. I doubt they'll be too hard to find.

Some cool harmonies for sure. Look forward to seeing their main stage set. It will definitely be a cool show in the Moon.
