Hi all -

So I just checked out the Palm Theatre's site, as I have tix for a Nightgrass show there, and was surprised to see it's a performing arts center. (Telluride newbie here, forgive me.) I was expecting something a little different for those shows. Sounds kinda ... sedate. Does anyone know if folks can get up and dance at the Palm, or if it's just not that kind of place? I'll be sooo bummed if I gotta sit still in my seat the whole time.

Thanks so much!

It's seated, which was nice last time I went (TBT in 2011) because I was tucked out from the day. Whether people will sit is probably dependent on the band, etc.

Last year, I was seated during peter Rowan's late night but the Los show was a party. All and all the palm was great. Plenty of room.

Thanks for the info. What I'm wondering is if it's okay, or if there is space, to get up and dance at the Palm. At the place like that where I live, people get all cranky when others get up and dance (and obstruct their view, yes), and sometimes the theater management just out-and-out won't let folks get up. Bummmmer.

The Palm Theater is a great addition for NightGrass. Do not worry, if you are at Telluride, and Nightgrass in particular, you do not need to worry about people sitting still. My (vague) recollection of the show that I saw there (TBT in 2011 as well) is all great.  There are seats as the map indicates but everyone who wanted to dance was dancing in their place and the "walkway" and front orchestra were definitely dancing zones.  Plus it's huge which is great for the energy in the room... (and allows for the tired ones-see above-to enjoy the show as well)

It is a different experience than the Sheridan or Fly Me to the Moon but different is not bad.

Do not worry young grasshopper.
 Cheers

Whew - awesome! Thanks so much to you all. I don't have festival tix for that day so I'm rollin' into town just before the Greensky show and I sure won't need to sit down!

Thanks again!
