My friends I and do our camping at Lawson Hill, and we love it.
Late night noise level just depends on where your tent is. Some people are louder than others and quiet hours don't start until 2 am so if you can't sleep with some noise I'd bring some earplugs or join the fun. We always just choose to join the fun!
The bike path is about 4 miles to the festival I believe. If you are planning on riding bike at night you'll need a good headlamp and a fair amount of experience since there will be some foot traffic along the way. We always just take the shuttle which picks up about every 15 minutes.
Some other things to note:
-The gas station at the top of the hill has ice, food, beer, sunblock, etc if you are running low.
- Lines for the shuttle get pretty long at the end of the festival when heading back so if you choose that route you'll either need to prepare for a wait or leave the festival a bit early.
- If you bring your bikes just find a tent spot close to the fence so you can chain your bikes to it at night or when you are away from your tent. I highly doubt anyone would mess with your stuff, but it's always good to be safe.
- Unlike some of the other campgrounds Lawson Hill allows single day tickets so there may be more people coming and going throughout the weekend than the campgrounds that only allow a 4-day pass.
- Last thing, there is little to no shade at Lawson Hill so bring a canopy if you don't want to bake in the sun all day.
Hope you guys have fun!
