Last night Yonder played here in Albuquerque.  Great show, as usual, and even the sound in the Sunshine Theater was decent (for a change).

But last night was their first featuring Jason Carter on fiddle.  WOW!  Really added to the energy on stage.

I don't know if JC will be with them by the time they hit T-ride, but here's one big vote in favor!

(BTW, Deadly Gentlemen was the warm=up band.  Very impressive, and two of them (fiddle player and David Grisman's son on bass) joined YMSB on stage.)

Yonder was in STL over the weekend.  They did an interview on a local community radio station (KDHX) on Saturday and mentioned Jason would be joining them for 10 shows (if memory serves).  I was a bit bummed that STL missed that by only one show, would have loved to see Jason playing with Yonder.  But dont think this extends beyond the west coast run of this tour.  And The Deadly Gentlemen blew me away.  Those guys were great.

Know those guys, if Jason Carter is at T-ride, and not busy during YMSB's set, I wouldn't be surprised to see him on stage with them for at least a little while.  And if not him, then Sam, or Darol or whatever fiddle player happens to be hanging around.

Jason has been hangin w/ the Yonder Boys quite a bit lately.  I'm not sure, but I think they may have gotten to know each other through DelFest...the meshing of the traditionalists with the hippies.

Jason played all Yonder sets for four days in Tulum last December, and quite a few other sets there, and he was also with Yonder during during the Charlottesville and Asheville shows this February...and yes, he adds a lot to their sound.  Killer version of "Come Together" in Charlottesville and Jason tore it up.

I hope to see Jason in Telluride with those mountain boys.

Jason Carter has also been playin alot with Salmon lately. Vince tweeted out that they were going to kidnap him for a year which prompted a funny back and forth between him and Ronnie McCrory. We were lucky to see Jason Carter with Yonder in Knoxville and Asheville and both shows were fabulous.
