Hey all,  first year in Town Park (2nd at the festival) so I may ask some stupid questions...

Where does one park their car if no vehicle pass?

If we arrive on Wednesday mid day will we be able to find space for a couple of tents?  Most of us (3 of 4) will be flying in so we won't be bringing the kitchen sink but would like to have enough room to move around.

Thanks in advance.
 Happy Holidays!
Hi Ben.  Welcome.

If you get to Telluride early enough in the week you can park your car in "Carhenge" (like Stonehenge...except for cars) which is a free public parking lot in town.  If it's full then you will have to park up in Mountain Villiage and ride the free Gondola back down to Telluride.

It will start getting crowded by Wednesday but you should have no problems finding a spot.  There is room for everyone with a ticket so never fear.

Brett

Thanks Brett.  We're looking forward to it.  Can't wait to meet everyone.

Hey folks,
Been reading all the posts tonight as I am making my virgin trek to TBF in June and these are very helpful to say the least. I have a shot at 4 Town Park spots (friends may have to cancel) and I see that there are some Warner Field spots still open. By the time we get our group in gear and get some decisions made (hopefully in next 3-5 days) we may very well have to look at Warner Filed or Lawson Hill. Coming the whole way from Pennsyltucky and we are all seasoned festival goers. I just can't determine and visualize the worst case scenario for carrying gear so sorry about that. Assume it can't be that bad. Anyhow here are my questions as I tried not to be repetitive based on other posts:

1. If we get the Warner Field I assume there is no parking pass that is needed and I would simply use desiginated areas correct? How far could the walk be, worse case scenario, with our gear from our cars to get Warner?

2. If we have to settle for Lawson Hill how long does the free shuttle run up there (hopefully until at least 2am) and how often? Is parking fairly close for carrying gear (if we get there on the 17th)

3. Looking at flying into Albuquerque as opposed to Denver. Anything I should be aware of? Just looks about 2 hours closer.

4. Looked for a couple threads on this tarp line talk but couldn't find any. I assume if your in TP or Warner (or is it regardless of where you stay?) that you can wait in line  in the early morning hours to get a good spot for your tarp? Assume this is your "spot" for the entire festival then? Some of my hombres like to pull this "arrive at the last moment" so assume there is not a bad seat in the house? (if so that is their problem)

5. We are all excited about this to say the least so looking at grooving during the day and then maybe hitting some small downtown shows on the "off nights".  Never been to Telluride so assume the shuttles are all we need to worry about? May also want to get some hiking in outside of town early in the mornings so will it be acceptable to use rental car or is it that once it is in designated parkign it stays until you leave?

Once again tried to read all virgin posts to ga.ther details and these are about the only itmes I need clarification on. Thanks for all your help in advance as it is greatly appreciated.

Warner Field is a Baseball Diamond ......

2. If we have to settle for Lawson Hill how long does the free shuttle run up there (hopefully until at least 2am) and how often? Is parking fairly close for carrying gear (if we get there on the 17th)

Yes !

3. Looking at flying into Albuquerque as opposed to Denver. Anything I should be aware of? Just looks about 2 hours closer.

I live in Albuquerque .. drive is 7 hours ....Loaded ...less for someone dont having a camp in the back of thier truck

There is no such thing as a bad spot !...If you align yourself with a Town Park camp .. if you get TP tickets
they would ask you to sit in line , run tarps ...whatever ..

If you get Town Park or Warner ... you are set ....everything you need is just a short walk away

What do you guys think the odds of me getting my hands on 2 Warner Field returns before the fest are?

I've got 2 Lawson Hill tickets I picked up before I learned that returned tickets go up for resale on Tuesdays, but I'm really hoping to be able to partake in the Town Park Latenight Festivities.  Would I be able to return my Lawson Hill tickets should I be lucky enough to nab some Warner Field returns?

Cheers Festival Lovers!  Cheers
