I am bringing my 80 year old parents to Bluegrass for the first time...is this a crazy idea?  they both can walk but not for miles- what is the best way to get them into the park - shortest walking distance, etc.  I have chairs for them once they get in (no basketball fits underneath so they should be able to get close enough to enjoy it all).  we wont stay all day but I just want to minimize the walk/wait travel hassle.  Neither is handicapped so we dont have a sticker or anything like that- we are staying in mountain village and will have a car with a town sticker on it but thats it.  any ideas welcome!

pretty sure you can go unload and just show the printed version. Then go get your wristbands.

See you tomorrow.

I thought highback chairs (higher than a b'ball) had to be behind the horizontal break walkway thru the field. . . a bit further back than the soundboard.  No? Yes?

You are correct. I guess I just think of the soundboard as the barrier.

You have two options, stay on 70 thru Denver over the mountains to Grand Junction to 550 south down to Ridgeway right on CO 62 follow to CO 145 to Telluride. The other is in Limon CO get off and go south/west on 24 to Colorado Springs stay on 24 through the city and up in the mountains toward Buena Vista, when you get to 285 take a left go to Poncho Springs where you'll hit CO 50 take a right stay on 50 till you get to Montrose take a left on 550 to Ridgeway. From then on its the same as above. Good luck that's a big trip in 2 days.

Thanks Foster, I checked them out on the atlas and the second way seems more direct but maybe slower speeds. Either way it will be a great trip. Thanks

If you are going to be traveling at night I'd stick to the interstate to GJ during the day I'd go with the lower route faster and beautiful. Have a great trip see ya there.

My bestie and I are total newbies to TBG and we have Town Park camping passes. None of our other friends got camping passes. We weren't able to get off work earlier so we aren't scheduled to arrive in Telluride until Wednesday mid-day. Its just two of us coming from Golden. We are seasoned festivarians, but I'm getting a little worried after reading through this thread. How hard will it be for us to find a decent space for 2 tents and an easy-up on Wednesday? EEK! Is there anyone there that would want to lay a tarp out for us, or is that too much to ask? We're super fun, sweet gals, and are guaranteed to be a good time! Just name your poison and we'll be sure to take good care of ya!  Flower  Cheers

Hello and thanks in advance for the info.. We have TP camping passes and two little ones with us 3 &1, my question is this: we aren't planning on getting to the park till wed afternoon friends have setup our tent already, but will I be able to drive my truck close to said camping spot or should I plan a long walk to bring all of our stuff to the site?  sooooo super excited for this weekend!!!! And if anyone else has some littles and wants to play would love to meet ya!

Hi all,  Wave  this will be my first Telluride Bluegrass Festival, heading out tomorrow and camping in Town Park!     I just found out that my ride back to Salt Lake City airport is leaving the festival on Sunday morning, and I am definitely hoping to stay for most of the music on Sunday.

Any leads on finding a ride back to Salt Lake City on Sunday night?  or even early monday morning?   I posted on the "hitching a ride" page, but no luck so far.  Wondering is anyone has suggestions on other methods of finding a ride, or if you know of anyone heading back that way that may have room for one more!  does anyone know if there is any sort of actual physical message board at the Festival, or other ideas for coordinating a ride share?

Thanks!
