i appreciate the help good people! just to be clear i should reword my question.

i have town park camp & 4 day festival ticket and a town park vehicle pass.

thanks to some good/kind people who show up early, my tent will already be set up on the wednesday so what i am hoping to do is drive right into town wednesday noon and park my car right in town park(with my town park vehicle pass). this year i don't want to go early to town park and hence my decision to buy the town park vehicle pass(for ease of the in and out of telluride). mountain village is a slight hassle that i don't want to have to deal with, if i don't have to and i know car henge will be sold out by wednesday noon.

so i'm just wondering if i show up at noon on wednesday to town park with the town park parking pass can i find a spot there(for sure)

thanks   Cheers

NNNNNNoooooooooo!!!!!!!!

You do not need to just park your car in Town Park and not camp in it.
That is the biggest no-no in the history of Town Park camping, period!
There are plenty of people that need Town Park Vehicle pass due to medical reasons.
If you don't sell it here on the forum and end up parking your car next to your tent you will be the most hated person there.
I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with all four tires flattened as well.
(It's been threatened before, but that's not very festivarian like either. )
You will not have the good time you expected if you don't sell your pass.
You can park your car for FREE.

Out of 1200 camping passes sold, there are only 30 vehicle passes, so you can see just how special these are.
For someone to use it simply to have their car close by is utterly selfish and is not a true festivarian. Frown Frown Frown

Now Tom, you may be making too strong a statement there. We would never flatten his tires. Now some one might douse the car with "Crunchy Frog!"...... But then that would be alcohol abuse. Seriously though Tornedos, Tom is correct about the seriousness of this most grevious "Festi-Foul". No harm will come to you or your vehicle, but you may just incur some really bad KARMA! Festivarians are a peaceful bunch. This has happened in the past when people didn't know better. You were smart and got on this forum to ask questions, so now you know! I am sure that you will do the right thing. In fact look up Debbie from Tucson on this board. She will find a good home for your VP, someone who NEEDS it, and Planet Bluegrass will make sure that you get your money in full when you sell it to someone in need! Here is to an awesome time. For you in Town Park. There is no other experience like. I would suggest that you arrive the Saturday before fest when the Planet takes over TP. You will love all of the activities we have planned for pre-fest.  Pirate

Hold on!  Could this be an encore from Pig Warden's great "Can I bring Scuppers the dog" prank thread from last year?

Hold on!!  You have a Town Park pass AND a 4-day Festival Pass????  You don't need both.  Your Town Park pass IS a 4-day Pass!

As for your Vehicle Pass, if you don't really need it, sell it to someone who really does.  You don't need a car in Telluride.  You can walk everywhere.  And if you should decide to take a car trip in the middle of the fest (I usually do to go fly fishing), then you either walk to your car if it's parked in town (after you've dropped off all of your camping supplies in Town Park) or take the free Ganja-la to Mountain Village and grab your car there.  Vehicle passes are too valuable to people who have medical needs to just use it to have your car parked next to your tent.

I've only been to this festival 16 years, so I don't carry much weight around here, but any seasoned Festi-veteran will agree with me.  Telluride is a walking town!   Once you dump your camping stuff, park the car where the volunteers guide you.  You really won't miss it!

First timer here.  So I just scored two 4 days passes for me and the wife to TBF.  They are festival-only tix.
I understand Town Park is the preferred camp to be in and I understand those 4 day passes with TPC camping are long ago sold out.  I've read that it's a longshot but sometimes these TPC tix show up on the 'returned ticket resale' site or on the PB forum.
The short question is this.  There would never be a TPC 'camping only' pass available to folks that already have 4 day fest passes, right?  On the PB site or otherwise.
If I'm understanding correctly, any available TPC tic would be a 4 day fest pass with TPC camping.
And If I were lucky enough to score a couple, then my option would be to try to sell my 'fest only' 4 day passes to others.
I currently have two camping passes for Mary Ilium and worst case, I'm sure we will still have an epic time!  Can't wait.

You are correct. Town Park camping and Warner Field camping passes include the four day festival pass.
They are the only camping passes that do include the festival pass.
There are a lot of people that love camping at Mary Ilium and I'm sure you'll have the time of your life.
Since it is a ways out of town and requires the bus ride to the festival I would suggest you bring everything you need for the entire day/night rather than go back to camp to get warm clothes for night time use.
You would miss a lot of music if you were to go back to camp for anything.
Welcome to the family. Flower

If you pay attention to this board you should be able to buy TP passes and sell your 4 day passes but that will happen much closer to the actual festival date. Just keep your eyes open.

This is my first time at the festival and I'm not really a morning person, a veteran told me that I might want to hire a tarp runner? Apparently there are lots of campers who are willing to stand in line and get a number to run your tarp down near the stage in the mornings? 1) Do people really do this? 2) How do I find these people?

Hi Wave A tarp runner and line sitter are not always one in the same. Yes you can find someone to hold a space in line so you can get a lower number (the lower numbers run their tarps first so they get the best seats). So you can have someone line sit for you then you wake up and get em coffee and then run your own tarp or you can ask the line sitter to run and throw the tarp. This for a fee and it varies from person to person.

To find these folks, who in my opinion are some of the kindest folks on the planet all you have to do is post but make sure you do so in the correct tab. Cheers Good luck!

The Telluride Bluegrass section start a new topic-Line sitter/Tarp Runner for TBF 2016. But really if you are young and fast and sleep in Town Park you can still get a great tarp space without all the hub bub. Of coarse if you sleep till noon this is a no go.

My name is Mary so HEY! Cheers

Tom- are low-to-the ground chairs allowed in Town Park for the Festival?  Any place to rent them?

Thanks!
