kaptain karlos,

thank you too! i was wondering if there would be somewhere that could refill the tanks for us!

...maybe the lack of a heater is why we didn't get a bigger pickin' ring going last year ...  that or the lack of talent  pickin hehehe! i've improved my skills though, and am ready to tear it up!

As for arriving early enough, the bigger your "krewe" or number of campers in your group might affect a timing/space decision.  People arrive at all times and I've yet to meet anyone who has been disappointed.  I don't think it's worth any stress, just make sure you have plenty of warmth for the night.  Tom saved me my virgin year by bringing me extra blankets.  (Thanks for that Tom).

I love the count down - three months will go by fast.

Any tips as to what airport to fly into for the cheapest tix?? I'm trying to spend as little as possible to get there, and Denver is the cheapest so far, but is is worth the haul to Telluride???

Howdy folks, I was wondering if a veteran could fill me in on the traffic getting out of T-Ride on Monday 6/25? I will be flying out of Denver that night and want to make sure I can make it back to Denver in time for my flight. Thanks!!

You know, I always leave on the Monday after and I've never had any trouble with traffic.  The speed limits are so slow and the two-lane highways all the way back to Montrose are such that nobody is getting anywhere any faster than anyone else!  Did you get all that?  I didn't.    Plus I like to cruise through the festival grounds and watch everyone pack up Monday morning after I'm packed.  That, of course leads to breakfast and Bloody Mary's, and then it's time to head to the Buck for a couple more, and before you know it, it's late Monday and I'm passed out in a back alley somewhere.  Huh.  Maybe you'd better ask someone else.

Well, considering it's normally about a 6 hour drive and you have to deal with the security screening once you get there.....

I'd give myself at least 8 hours! EEK!

Trust me, you'll be so depressed that you are leaving you won't care about traffic or getting anywhere anyway.

traffic never seems to be a problem heading in my direction, it's the re-entry that's the killer. you can easily be out of Town Park and back in Denver by 2:00PM if you need to.
as far as flying in to which airport? Denver is probably the cheapest unless you can hook up a ride out of Salt Lake City (they're Delta's hub) .  you can check out the "hitchin' a ride" thread and hook yourself up with one of the many that come out of the Denver area? there is an airport in Telluride but I imagine the hop from Denver is a bit pricey? also they probably don't have more than a few flights a day.

Hey wait a minute? your going to fly from Nebraska?? even if your from omaha, it's only 550 miles from Denver??  Driving

I will be driving from Omaha to TBF if you are looking for alternate travel plans and don't mind carpooling.

Yes, tiz true... but I found a plane ticket for just over $200.... with the way gas prices are climbing again, I would end up spending at least $150 round trip anyway... and for only $50 more, I'd be there in one hour as opposed to 7... We'll just have to see!!  Flower

Another virgin here.
Just wondering if there are any other tips for those of us staying at Mary Illium (besides getting there early and showering at the hs)?

I wasn't aware that you weren't cool if you didnt get into Town Park, so I'll have to give that a shot next year. Wink

Or, you can deny your "uncoolness" like me and try like hell to find someone to switch camping passes with you . . .
