Shifting gears to singer-songwriters, here's a new one for Telluride Bluegrass... Though she's still being discovered here in the US, most astute music listeners in England know her well. She won the 2011 Brit Award (similar to Grammys) for Best Female Artist, her first 2 albums were both nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize, and she just turned 22 years old. She writes and sings like a young Joni Mitchell. She pours her heart out in gorgeous flowing melodies over intricate acoustic guitar lines. Backed by her full band her songs take surprising twists - dynamic, alternately dark and joyous, wise and briming with passion. "Rambling Man" is a nice entry point (here performed in front of more than 75,000 people at Glastonbury) http://youtu.be/vRzKFpqgMtM.. ... ... We're thrilled to welcome for her first Telluride Bluegrass... ... ... .. Laura Marling
