Rolling Stone sucks. Their music writing/reviews are crap. Only thing decent about the magazine at all anymore is Matt Taibi.
That article reminds me of "Almost Famous." All the crap Phillip Seymor Hoffman tells the kid to feed to the magazine is in there. Sensationalist pop drama; ughh. It really did come off as sort of patronizing toward the town and the fest, with Mumford gracing the stage simply because of an obsession with the quaintness of it. I knew they were rich kids, but hedge funds and evangelical church founders? TMI...
Ah well, it's RS; what do u expect? There were a couple interesting bits, like the religious background. Lets just hope they can hold up to the attention, because right now, that deer in the headlights/model dating routine looks like it could bury them sooner then later. They may not be the best musicians yet, but they have a pretty rad sound sound I'd like to see progress.
