Hey friends,

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week.  This will be the first year that our group has (mobile) kids in the mix and was wondering if anyone had tried and true methods for either, a) keeping up with your kids or b) finding them once you realized that you have not kept up with them.  My wife stays on our boy (2) as well as anyone could but doesn't hurt to plan ahead.  Wrist bands, tattoos, glow in the dark shirts, blinky lights?  What works?

Thanks!!!
Ben

I have the child tattoos & that will work well- I like that more than a wrist band, bc it stands out more- people will expect the kids to have wristbands on & may not look at them closely. I also am going to try a "child locator" this year- don't know yet, but here's an amazon link:

Other than that- the fest is so kid friendly, people are pretty on the lookout for stray little ones.  The one thing we have going for us is that a toddler DEFINITELY looks out of place without an adult scrambling after them!  Good luck

Thanks.  That looks like a pretty cool/loud device.  I found some 'body lights' for evening time from a company in tupelo ms.  www.extremeglow.com.  No way I'll lose him with these things stuck to his clothes.  I'll trade you a few for a tattoo or two.

When my toddler was mobile (or a terror!)  I actually wore the same colored shirt and shorts as him.  Green shirt with khaki shorts.  Seems stupid but he was amazing at hiding and soon people were helping me left and right telling me where he had hidden if I looked away for two seconds.  They started recognizing us.  We also kept a similar schedule at the festival as at home.  Snack time, book time, nap time.  I used clothes pins and draped a over sized towel in between our chairs so he had shade.  Worked great.  I was strict with the first festival and the following festivals he already knew the routine and didn't fight me on it.  Amazing what a little consistency can do:)
