Ah G Brown.  KCUV's switch to FM and subsequent demise is too bad.  It was a good station and the Bluegrass hours rocked!

G's knowledge of music is unbelievable.  I miss his morning segment of having an artist come in to play their own set list and talk about music.

Nice, I bet some of you guys have a story or two... That dude is indeed a fountain of Colorado knowledge, I've read some of his old articles. I was driving around by the Fourmile area the other day and heard this interview with him about the CO music hall of fame, red rocks, and john denver. Pulled around this hill in between sunshine canyon and wagonwheel gap and I swear to god right as they play 'sunshine on my shoulders' a huge ray pops through a thunderstorm and just lights up my ride! I was instantly transported back to Oregon as a little tyke listening to John Denver records with my dad on the living room floor; yet I never felt more Coloradoan at the same time. As cheezy JD may be sometimes, it still gave me the shivers. Can't wait to make some memories for the 60 year book! 6 days!!

Thanks for posting the link to the interview.  Brings me back to earlier days too.  Cheeze and all, John Denver has always been and will always have a special place in my heart. Not only does his music transport me to my favorite place in the world, the Rockies, but also brings back memories of my older brother who died in the mid 70's.  I was pretty young and I would listen to his JD albums over and over again.  I remember thinking that John was singing about my brother when he sang about losing a friend in "Rocky Mountain High".  I was lucky enough to finally get to see him play live just a couple of weeks before his death.  Special. 

Enuff Sappiness!!!  Time for Happiness and Festiness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just have to say that, though many of you who have gone to the festival over its many years would probably note significant changes, I think it's awesome that TBF essentially looks the same music-wise as it did 30+ years ago.  A real sense of tradition 'round goes a long way.
