My friend is a huge golfer, and I've been practicing so we can golf a round while out in CO. We originally planned on heading down to Durango on Monday (6/13) to shoot a round, but it turns out the course we picked only allows public golfing on weekends.

The course in Telluride is a bit rich for us. Any recommendation on reasonable nearby courses? By nearby, I mean within a 2 hour one way drive. By reasonable, I mean < $50 for a twilight round.

  huh  Thumbs Up  Cheers

I actually played at Telluride Country Club before last year's festival... $97 for a twilight round is steep, but for that scenery, worth every penny.

You might want to check out The Divide / Fairway Pines in Ridgeway.

If my memory is correct, (and there's really only about a 50% chance of that) you can play a twilight round there for about $50.

But I agree with the other posters about the Telluride Golf Club.  It's worth it to spend the money to play that course.  There are some challenging holes, but there are 5 sets of tees so you can give yourself a break and make some of the holes easier.  The scenary is awesome, the staff is great.  I know it's expensive, but if you're on vacation and you can afford to splurge, I don't think you'll regret it.

But I totally understand if you'd rather play a less expensive course and use the cash that you save at the New Belgium tent!!! Cheers
