I just sleep on the ground when I camp.  It's easier, and I don't have to have the dimensions of some skinny little space in the back of my mind as I sleep.
If I drink enough you might find me "sleeping" on the ground too. if I have a choice I prefer comfort!

Rick I'm bringing the rockers. I know you like to nap in those. Sleep Sleep

Lisa, do you know the dangers of an air mattress in cold camping environments?

Maybe you're well-versed in all this...but the ground in Telluride is COLD at night.  If you put an air mattress on the ground and then sleep on it, it's like sleeping on a very cold rock.  It sucks the heat out of you.

If you don't think about it, and pile more and more covers on yourself, you eventually keep in enough body heat that you'll wake up to a wet bed when all the moisture condenses on the air mattress.

We just gave up on them after experiencing all of the above (and the middle of this night collapse, of course).  Maybe someone with better experiences can give you good advice.

Jeff.. Camp Evergreen... she's been there and done that... and lives up there.... but you're sweet to bring the subject. I was wondering if you would like to start the annual "air mattress conversation" thread for the newbies? Oh, wait.. you and T-Tom just did that..... nevermind......  LOL LOL LOL

What can I say...I don't get out much LOL:

Seriously....We have so many awesome festivarians in camp, and we have so little time (and so much of my time is consumed either working or chasing kids), there are so many people I don't know.

There's also the fact I have no memory :)

That's okay.  It's tough to know who everyone is when names aren't used and the profile pics are too small for our "ahem" older eyes. I'll start.  I went with my real name, and this is a bigger pic of me.  We usually camp in TP, along the back trail at the base of the hill.  Lat year, we were with friends in the primitive area, but this year, we'll try to get back in our old spot.

nice to re-meet you Lisa :-)

HuckinFappy is *not* my real name  LOL   I'm Jeff, and I camp down on the river in Camp Billy with my wife Tessa, and the kiddos, jacy, jaco & joah.  The potluck is in my frontyard every year, and I love it there :-)

Don't know if you guys were around for the goddess walkabout last year, but here's a memory jog.  I'm the one with the beer coming out of my head.  Cool talent, huh?
