why can't then be now?

It seems like forever....at least I have Phish June 3-5 at Pine Knob, Blossom and Riverport to tie me over...gonna be a fine 30th birthday present to myself.

I feel the same way on occasion, but it's important to remember the following:

Why the hell can't it be June 13th right now, and why can't I be reclining in my lawn char, 7 miles west of Telluride while sipping an IPA, wondering what the house band will open with in 4 days?

.. and no where near now is so much closer to now than it's been, way back then, when it was no where near now, and yet now is not now, but I agree, now is most definitely more almost now than it has ever been

Because now is then and then is now.

When you get to now it becomes then, you know, if we could only step backwards  in time we could relive all our thens, and we would never look back only FORWARD.
When I get to then I want to be in the now and when I get to the now I want to be in the then.....

So for now, I mean then, I want to live in the now and speak fondly of the thens.

Why cant then be now?

essesnce of the 'now' is attainable at any point
concentrate on existing not in the 'then'
but rather existing through the 'then'
and the 'then' becomes the 'now'

excersize...
start by counting your bones
and focusing on every sensory input
then see through the figment of time
place your self right in the cradle of the essence

now is most definitely more almost now than it has ever been

with the final pack going in the car it seems like then is so much closer to now than it has ever been yet still so close to then rather than now.  tho being in the now for then sure makes it seem like now instead of then.  no matter.  then will be more now in just a few hours than it is now.
