Congrats and good luck to everyone on your Nightgrass requests.

To those of you that didn't request, consult Mr. Muntz... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIrhVo1WA78

Just kiddinbg...I put in for Mumford & Sons,, but if I get it I will surely not be going (Emmitt-Nershi Band FTW).  So I will have some extras.

Ran into Abigail Washburn and The Village the other night, here in Nashville.

THEY ARE THRILLED TO BE OPENING FOR MUMFORD & SONS!!!!!!!!

OK - understatement of the year!

So, Abigail is opening for Mumford & Sons? Is the same true for the other nightgrass shows with two bands? Is Joe Pug opening for TBT or playing with them? I wasn't sure if they'd be playing together or if one was an opening band.

For the nightgrass shows with one band, would those likely be two set shows? And the shows with two bands listed would be one set per band?

Go back to the greenboard....  just kidding  Thumbs Up

I'm under the assumption that each of these bands will be playing 1 set, I've never been to a nightgrass show with two bands, so pretty much has to be a 1 set per band show.

You would also most likely miss some of the opener if you plan on catching any of Old Crow.

I don't recall any single-band bills that weren't 2 sets.

And seeing the Crooked Still and Avett Bros. double-bill two years ago, it seemed like dual-headline sets.

Is the capacity of the sheridan opera house actually only 300 people?  That seems insanely small!

Gonna be tough to find a Yonder ticket me thinks

I'm a newbie so take this for what it's worth. It seems  like these nightgrass shows create more stress than they are worth for the majority who don't get any tix. How late does the music go att the festival anyway? It seems by attending a Nightgrass show  you might miss something else at the Festival.
Many other festivals just have the music go until 2, 3, 4  in the morning. It seems to make sense  to just put these acts up as a Showcase, last at night so everyone can see.

All of the Night Grass acts do play at the festival.. And, I believe there are rules set by the Town of Telluride as to how late the "playing" can happen at the festival field.

I was a newbie last year, and didn't go to any nightgrass shows... I had a perfectly swell weekend.  This year I decided to try a show or two.  Like you said, there are bands playing on the main stage until midnight, so it doesn't exactly break my heart that I have to see OCMS instead of Mumford & Sons (especially since I was majorly impressed with OCMS at the Railroad Revival Tour).  But seeing Mumford & Sons in Sheridan would've been cool, too.

It's just more options.  Nothing to get all crazy about; it doesn't make or break the weekend.
