So I was reading in previous forums that even if you have a ticket for nightgrass shows you are not guaranteed entry because they over sell the shows. Will this be the case this year? I just want to make sure if I buy a ticket I can definitely get in.

That was only with the All Venue Pass ("AVP") wristbands, a hard ticket is good for one entry.

Well, not completely exactly. FFDave and I were at the Sheridan last year for Keller and the Keels but we got there about 30 minutes after the show started. I had an AVP and was shut out - Dave had a ticket and he was denied entry for a while because of overcrowding. He sweet talked himself in eventually.

Moral of the story - the earlier the better!  Cheers

Hi newb here.  I've never tried to get tickets to a NightGrass show before.  Does anybody have a general sense as to what the odds are to get a ticket?  If I try to get tickets to both RRE and Cornmeal, knowing (of course) that I can only go to one of them, am I being a pig?  or does everybody throw their name into the pot for any show they have interest in, knowing that they will be lucky to get anything?

That's the general idea of what happens in the lotteries for Nightgrass.

I'm of the notion that over crowding will be kept to a minimum this year with the loss of the All Venue Passes. At least, I hope so..

ISO: 1 Saturday - Mumford w/ Abby at The Sheridan Opera House... also putting that out to the Bluegrass Gods, for what it's worth.  LOL

This is a big part of why we're not selling all-venue passes this year.  By getting rid of them, we're expecting to alleviate these kinds of problems.   Thumbs Up

Beru, i seem to remember demanding entry to the show, since i had purchased the ticket, and was actually being sorta difficult with the usher, quite opposite of my usual sweet talking approach.  And no matter how i came across, i got in and saw a fantastic show, man i loved that show.  Now i just need my RRE and Dusters NG tix, and nirvana shall be mine

Yes, Dave. Sweet talking was my euphemism for your actual behavior.

Hello. Just so I'm understanding this correctly, many of the Nightgrass shows will begin before the festival is over?  So let's say you've got tickets for the 10 PM Trampled by Turtles show on Thursday, you would have to leave the festival before the closing act finshes up in order to get to the start of the show?

that's correct for Sheridan shows.  For fly me to the moon shows, i beleive it is 21 plus--fullstop. (and i have no idea about the Palm, but i would guess that it's 21 plus unless accompanied by an adult.)
