2011 NightGrass schedule

This will be our 18th TBF and we haven't been to a Nightgrass Show yet..

i got a bit stressed out, but it was kind of fun having some things to look forward to/plan well before the fest.  I'm really glad Trampled is playing where they are, because if I didn't get tickets to that I would have been mad.  mad.   Also got tickets for the Yonder Firstgrass show, and everything else is just gravy.  more options like you say.

I've only ever been to the Kick Off Party (as I'm 19). I speculate that two years down the road, my problem will be deciding which artists would be worth missing. This year, there's really only one show I would be willing to go to. RRE may be my current favorite band, but I've already seen them twice this year and The House Band only plays once a year, so I'm not missing that. Yonder is another favorite, but they come through my home town every year and I go to the Kick Off party anyway. Plus, as previously mentioned, RRE is my current favorite. I'd miss Old Crow for any of the Saturday bands if I was old enough, though. I like Old Crow, but I simply adore Mumford, Emmit-Nershi and The Stringdusters. And nothing could make me miss Darrell Scott, er, I mean Robert Plant, closing out Sunday night. Even if you don't get nightgrass tickets, there's still great music to go around. Nobody leaves TBF disappointed.

I'm a newbie so take this for what it's worth. It seems  like these nightgrass shows create more stress than they are worth for the majority who don't get any tix. How late does the music go att the festival anyway? It seems by attending a Nightgrass show  you might miss something else at the Festival.
 Many other festivals just have the music go until 2, 3, 4  in the morning. It seems to make sense  to just put these acts up as a Showcase, last at night so everyone can see.

I was a newbie last year, and didn't go to any nightgrass shows... I had a perfectly swell weekend.  This year I decided to try a show or two.  Like you said, there are bands playing on the main stage until midnight, so it doesn't exactly break my heart that I have to see OCMS instead of Mumford & Sons (especially since I was majorly impressed with OCMS at the Railroad Revival Tour).  But seeing Mumford & Sons in Sheridan would've been cool, too.

It's just more options.  Nothing to get all crazy about; it doesn't make or break the weekend.

I plan on just taking the whole thing in and accept what Telluride has  to offer, even if  it is a few  hours more of sleep. Woulda been nice to see my friends from RRE  an extra time  but we'll see ' em on the field.

Looked at Stubhub  this morning, and just love the Festerian Spirit of Sharing...

RRE, Sheradon - tickets ranging from $299 to $650 
Mumford and Sons - $500 to $800
YMSB, a bargain - $177 to $600

I've been watching stubhub for awhile and I'm prettty sure there are a few sellers with a handful of tickets.  They then list some tickets at a range of outrageous prices and then slowly release others at lower prices to make them look like a good deal.  However, the lower prices are still way too much.

Clever marketing, but very annoying.
