We have a group coming from Georgia to the festival, and have run into a bit of trouble with finding a camp site that isn't sold out. Does anyone have any suggestions of what we could try? We wanted to stay at THS but now that, and pretty much everything else is sold out.
Also, we're only planning on staying one night (Saturday)...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Check the "tickets" section of this forum as well as Craigslist for tickets for sale.  A lot of people will start selling their tickets as conflicts in their schedules arise.  Also, we really try to promote "face value" re-sale of tickets so don't buy from scalpers trying to turn a profit.  Good luck!

All of the Planet Bluegrass campgrounds require either a 4-day pass or four single day passes. So if you're only staying one night, your best bet would be to either find a hotel or camp in a national forest campground. There are several around Telluride that aren't too far.

actually, there is always one campground that allows you to stay with any single day ticket: presently, that's Lawson Hill (it's a baseball field at the turnoff by the gas station just before the fork in the highway on CO145).  So, if you are just staying one night, going to the fest for one day, you probably want to be on the lookout for resales for Lawson Hill.

The one campground that comes to mind that is near the festival is Alta Lakes. It's a US Forest Service campground maybe 5 or 6 miles south of Telluride. I have not stayed there but have heard good things about it from festivarians. It does require a four wheel drive to get to the lake but I heard the view is great (you can Google it). This primitive campground will fill up for the festival as it's free. Accessing the festival from this side of town may be beneficial as you can take the free gondola into town versus dealing with the bus shuttle from down-valley. Good luck!
