I've also found that if you get there too late, you run the risk of the breakfast burrito stand running out of bacon.  Not cool.

Last year I got to find out what it feels like to walk out of there with the very last piece of bacon, while everybody else waiting in line watches.  I can attest to the fact that the breakfast burrito stand running out of bacon is a very real problem.

I was at the Punch Brothers Nightgrass show last year and the show ended after 2 am and the close of the gondola.  My wife ended up leaving the show early to go back up to Mountain Villiage by herself to get our car and drive back down the hill to get me after the show was over.  That wasn't the most convientent thing to do at 2:30 in the morning.

If the show would have started on time it wouldn't have been an issuem but when it starts 45-60 minutes late, things don't work out the best.

  Can someone post what the hours of operation are for the Gondola from Mtn Village during TBF?  Specifically, how early in the morning do they start running?

When is the Gondola open and how much is it to ride?

The Gondola is open daily from 7am to midnight, during the summer and winter seasons. Please enjoy the Gondola whenever you would like for free. Pet and handicap cars are also available. The Gondola is closed during the spring and fall off seasons.

During the festival I know it runs until at least 2:00 AM.

When you say "at least" 2:00 AM, are you suggesting that they won't leave you stranded if you're in line before 2:00 AM?  I found staying in MV nice last year, and I'm doing the same this year, but one of my greatest fears is being left stranded in Telluride...

You could get a taxi or hike up ... which is only about an hour from Town to the Peaks via the river trail -> boomerang (a jeep trail which starts just to the south of the Shell station on the valley floor).

I was the last person to get sweet and sour sauce on the cream cheese & spinach wontons from Sister's ... I made sure to announce it to everyone in line, it's unacceptable to push peanut sauce (IMHO) with no excuse to run out.  I realize vending is difficult work, but come on ... that stuff is probably sealed in non-perishable containers (and I did see them at Jazz Aspen in Snowmass later in the summer!)

I can't believe you were in right in front of me in that line.  My normal breakfast of a burrito and a Ranger just wasn't the same that day.

Of course I didn't let that ruin my day at TBF.  And as serious as this offense sounds, I really can't complain too much because I think the folks running the concessions do a fantastic job.  I simply need to get in line earlier.
