I just want to thank all of you wonderful people who made the RG Academy 2010 possible for us. It was truly a life changing experience for me, my son Jacob and my nephew Matthew. I think that one of the greatest challenges for musicians is isolation... and the RGA is the cure. It was like one massive, musical, week-long, group hug. My personal musical world was expanded... and the effect of that will be felt throughout my lifetime. For that I'll be eternally grateful to the staff and other participants of the academy. Thanks, Ben!

Kudos to Steve and Brian for their efforts in bringing you some of the best musicians available to spend the week with you.

Kudos to you for having an open mind, and willingness to be apart of such a wonderful musical atmosphere.

Hopefully, we'll see you next year.

Cheers

D.

Ya get whatcha put out, right?...and Ben, you and the boys were great camping neighbors! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all, hearing you jam, and watching the kids having a ball. And Matthew's got himself some talent! So, next year, stay for Festivaaaal!

Ann,
Right back at you! You were wonderful neighbors... and I hope and trust that the spot worked for Siena's family. It looked like the new neighbors were saving it too. You, Jerry, Ron, Tom, Andre and everyone were really good to us and helped make our experience great. Thanks for having such an open, loving attitude.

What a great experience, great jamming with all the great players and new friends.  We had to leave before the festival (to play gigs, believe it or not) but we will plan better next year.  Is that Ann our favorite quilter & neighbor?  You are a Hoot!

 Thumbs Up
Jessica!
Thank you sooooo much for taking Stevie under your nurturing mama musician wing. Stevie was so timid at the beginning of the Academy. But thanks to you and the rest of the band she left the academy pumped and inspired. We have secured a bassist to give private lessons and her goal is to learn  many songs from the songbook for next year. Stevie turns 13 at the end of the month and plans to sit in with the house band at her party. A feat we could have never accomplished without her wonderful experience at the academy!  What a great experience! We are still feelin the love.

Hey Adam!!!  Is that you in that picture?!  find me on FB  glover@planetmind.net

Hey Carla & Stevie :)  Stevie, you are awesome!   It was just soooo much fun~  I also just got home a week ago (sigh...) and today printed out the roster...so this sweet woman (i believe Nancy Conley) took vids of the band scramble finals...and has us on youtube.  So fun!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfIUANsAKio  I think that will find it...or she has it under  Rocky Grass band scramble Turkey in the Straw...
Anyway, I'm certainly still feeling the love and need it to get me through another year here in Tampa!
My boys have said they want to be in the academy if I get in again...mandolin & guitar!  wooohooo!

Keep in touch, you all~
