Staying home from Telluride this year and going to the Folks Fest for the first time. Is the on-site campground the place to be, or do people prefer the Meadow Park campground? Thanks for any help.

Having done both I have to say go with On Site.  Unless you absoluely need peace and quiet to sleep.

I've tried both, and I definitely prefer the Meadow Park campground, but that's because I like peace and quiet and a bit of room to move around.

I've heard a lot of people line up as early as Sunday for On-Site Camping. How early should we get there? Would Thursday morning be good enough to get a decent spot? And which are the best spots? Besides the shady ones? Any areas to avoid? Thanks!  Flower

We usually pull in on Thursday afternoon and get a number in the 80-150 range.  Good enough for where we usually want to end up.

Lots of good spots and few to avoid, cept maybe right by the port-o-let.  Keep an eye out for the big orange-tarp if you want some distance from late night performances.

I like on-site better than Meadow Park but that's just cause I am laze and dont wanna keep walking back and forth with my 3 kids.

If you don't like something, change it.  Otherwise change the way you feel about it.

Hi, LOL
Folks Fest Camping I've tried both, and I definitely prefer the  campground.Camping at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in beautiful Lyons, Colorado alongside the North St. Vrain River - including the Planet Bluegrass Ranch and Meadow Park campgrounds.
 Cheers Cheers

I absolutely love the on-site camping. It is great if you want to take a break during the day and head back to camp, it is only a few short steps away. Your fellow campers are warm and welcoming and while there is music and laughter at night, it usually isn't enough to keep you awake. Cheers
