Hi Everyone, I am looking forward to seeing your smiling faces. Needing some beta on the mountain bike trails. I spoke with my friend up there yesterday and he told me the mtb trails from the gondola are closed as per USFS....let's hope that they open up in time. Otherswise, does anyone have some favorite trails from town? Can I pedal up Bridal Veil falls...Would pedaling up Ophir Pass be Insane or Insanely Awesome.
Cheers!  Cheers

Hey.  The trail up to Bear Creek Falls is pretty decent....double track, slow uphill grunt, about 2 miles to the falls.  Tomboy Road, also double-track and shared by 4wd vehicles is great for views but also a continuous slow uphill.  There was one trail open at the top of the gondola last year but it's "expert" (I was with beginners).  There are also trails in Mountain Village...one of which is all down-hill back to the valley floor which was pretty fun.  Ophir Pass is quite long and also is quite far away from Telluride, so you'd probably want to drive to Ophir and bike from there.

Ophir may not be open yet, better check with USFS.
