I will be returning to Telluride for my second Bluegrass Festival this year and I can NOT wait!!! We'll be camping in Town Park for the first time but it looks like most of my camp will not be able to make it to Telluride until later on Tuesday night (leaving from Denver around 3 ish in the afternoon). Are there still decent campsites available on Tuesday night? Also, my schedule is a bit more flexible and I'm considering looking for some fellow Festivarians who might be leaving from Fort Collins on Monday or early Tuesday morning. I'd love to be there early on to join in the festivation, but I'd also love to stick with my camp and carpool with them. Just thought I'd see what kind of feedback everyone has.

Also, can we drive into Town Park to unload / set up camp and then park our car elsewhere? Where exactly DO you park a car if you don't have a vehicle pass?

Can't wait to get to camp and meet everyone! Cheers!

Just be careful about driving at night because of the deer on the road.

I'm sure others will put in their two cents, mine is this.

When you get there, you'll find your campsite.  It is what it is.  If you're coming early, you may want to bring enough tarps for your group's tents.  If it were me and the difference was Monday or Tuesday, I'd stick with my group.  ...maybe.... or I'd get there Monday.... or even better yet, .... I'd abgat to be there for two weeks.

If you get there Tuesday late, I don't know when you'll have to move your car.  Definitely by Wed. am and you'll probably be up the gondola.  It's really nothing to worry about but I wouldn't leave stuff in your car that you might need.

ABGAT = Advance Blue Grass Assault Team.  Your team need you to get there early and tarp some tent sites.  Finding a site in the dark on Tuesday will be challenging if you're a group with more than a couple of tents, but there will be spaces all around; you just might have to get creative.  But everyone on this board will probably tell you you should forget the carpool and arrive as early as possible.  The rest of your group will thank you later!

Depending on what time of night you pull in, you'll be given an hour or so to unload and then move your car.  If you arrive after the gondola stops running, you'll probably park in Town Park until the next morning, and then you'll have to move your car to Mtn. Village.  If you get there on Monday, you might still be able to park in town.

Thanks for the valuable feedback. Still figuring it out, but all the information helps a lot. We have a small camp (just one tent) so I might just stick with my crew and set up where we can. We're not too picky.

Bevin - you get your tickets safe and sound? I am getting reeeeaaaally anxious for the festy!

(ding - light comes on)

Oh, Hey!  Jordy!

Yep, I got those tickets.  THANKS!  And if you need a spot when you roll in, we'll make room for you at Camp Totally Lit.  I'll have some tent spaces reserved.    PM me off list if you like and I'll shoot you my phone number.

I'm not sure what made us finally decide to arrive on Tuesday night instead of Wednesday morning.  Perhaps it was the Eggs Benedict breakfast, or the Headline Bluegrass Band Town Park performance.  I hate setting up camp in the dark, but I'm going to love waking up in Town Park on Wednesday morning!  Hey, thanks for saving us a spot a Camp Totally Lit, Bevin!  Oh, and thanks for everything else, too!
