I'm going on 12 years at Rocky grass, and camping at meadow park. I'm part of a group of musicians that pick there and many know us. Can anybody shed some light on the new rules concerning late night picking and quiet hours? Can't believe I'm saying this, but some of us are considering changing to camping at the farm, and some are considering not coming this year because of the general direction things have been heading the past couple of years. Anybody camp at the farm please let me know what's it's like. I've got a big group waiting on answers. Rockygrass should be protecting and promoting jam sessions. Thanks, Ian

Ian-Don't go!

I think this change may actually help matters at Meadow Park.  I know Ed and crew have been shut down in the past for noise, and hopefully this will stop that.  Meadow Park simply has more space than Riverbend, and I'm assuming they'll tuck the family area way to the west side, away from the noise up front.  This may eliminate the old shower house for jamming, but that hasn't been used regularly since the flood.

Our camp is sticking.  There's nothing like Meadow Park.

Billy!

I was so glad you're back, and thought I'd run into you at a show already.  However, Saturday I was at Lil Smokies, and it looks like you were at Billy Strings.  Too much good music.  I'll buy you a beer when our music schedules collide.  Oh, and I do still own a mandolin.  That's all I'm saying.

Ian-
I just spoke with someone at PB, and they couldn't id the area for family camping yet.  The big problem today was that anyone buying Lavern/Meadow camping online HAD TO select "Family Camping" to buy their tickets (there was only one box, and you had to select a box to proceed).  They don't have an option for regular, fun camping.   This will totally skew their #'s.
