Hot Springs

I know there are some hot springs around Ridgway, but does anyone know if there are any hot springs closer to Telluride?

At risk of getting in trouble with Riconeans, there is a make shift very low key one off the highway just north of Rico

Thanks, a wild spring is totally more our speed than some resort. I'd be down to hike or ride a certain distance to get to a sweet spot.

Thanks. Have you ever been to the Orient Land Trust hot springs? If so are these two comparable?

No, haven't been there, but it looks AMAZING! Much more rustic and rural than Orvis.  But far from Telluride.  Guess it depends on if you are coming from that direction.  Orvis is developed.. the pools are still natural, no concrete like Ouray's, but it's definitely got a real "maintained" feel to it...there's a bathhouse...there's landscaping....however it's not out in the boonies like Orient looks to be. It's just been my go-to when I can get up to Telluride a few days before the festival and want something relaxing after a long hike....best of luck!

Probably not to wise to be out too long because the hills have eyes and a bunch of creepers so
FYI be mindful if you chance it but... I dunno kinda eerie out there on display for all to watch.

Orvis is the spot however it can be pricey and gets packed and filled with FestiFunk soon after the show.
Best bet is a soak preshow

OLT is beautiful - Make reservations before driving all the way there!!! 

If you are near OLT and finished for the day  go south to HOOPER and meet JUDY at the UFO Watchtower and sign the guestbook. Shes great and will give you a reason to look up. (no hotspring here but an amazing VORTEX

We've been to OLT many times. And I've always wanted to stop by the UFO place, but always had time running against me. Personally I'm not too worried about the stranger danger of being seen in a hot springs. Was really aiming to find a place maybe not so public to avoid crowds, and squares. Thanks everyone for all the input.
