We live in Fort Collins and were planning on rolling into Lyons Thursday after work to get our onsite camping spot. The site says you can pay extra ($10 per day) to line up as early as this past weekend. Really? The $440 we paid for tickets and camping wasn't enough to secure a spot?

Is Thursday afternoon too late? Are we doomed to be by the porta-potties?

If you arrive Thursday night you will be squeezed in someplace not all that great.

I suggest you try to take a half day off work on Thursday.  Pack the night before and be ready to go.  I've shown up around 3 or 4pm Thursday, gotten in line, and gotten a good spot.
