Sooooo... I got my tickets for the fest last week (WOOHOOO!!!  Thumbs Up) and it had something that spoke of a "Dance Area" within the fest.  Can somebody elaborate on this.  Is this for only the hard-core dances, but everyone is standing and moving around in the rest of the fest grounds, or is it only dancing in this dance area and everyone is pretty much sitting.

I just want to plan where we will be set up each day and if we need to be close to the dance area or not.

Any information is appreciated.

The place they call the "Dance area" is to the left of the stage and behind the press tent, but people will be dancing all over. There's almost always dancers behind the sound booth, and occasional dancers throughout the festival grounds.
If you want to dance, go for it, just be considerate of your neighbors if they ask you to move or sit down. Flower

Tom is correct (as usual).  The official dance area is also the hula-hoop area.  Dancers can dance pretty much anywhere (keeping your tarp neighbors in mind as Tom said), but the hula-hoopers are encouraged to stay in the hula zone.

If you like to dance, the open area behind the sound board is usually full of people who really dance well, and they're fun to watch, too, and they can cut a rug (grass?) without being in front of any body's view of the stage.

There's also some standing-room space to the right of the stage (facing the stage, between the stage fence and the vendors) where people stand or dance as well, and if your tarp is at the back of the field, that spot provides a great place to go up front and get a great view of the stage for a set or so without blocking the view of anyone behind you.
