I missed all the night action last year, so I am hoping to catch some this year.
Gonna be hard to beat John Paul Jones at the brewery a few years ago...

I just heard from a friend that there won't be Moongrass shows this year, as they lost $$ last year. bummer, but there will be  a lot of musicians with instruments roaming around, so should be a stellar "pick' in the campgrounds.. Frown Frown

Try Oskar Blues for some late nite tunes.  I know fer sure that the TBF band contest winner, Spring Creek Bluegrass, is playing Wednesday night.  Go see 'em!  They TOTALLY deserved the win at Telluride, and they're in the Rocky Grass contest, too.  So I'd bet they'll be all psyched up and rarin' to go.

More on the Oskar Blues schedule here:

Yo, and that Uncle Earl show w/John Paul Jones a coupla years aog, now that was epic.

Yea, it was sweet.  Oscars is ripping all week.  I plan on catching Packway on Sat, and maybe High-beams Friday.  Can't make Wed Spring Creek, friends reggae band is in Boulder that day.  But might shoot up Thursday for Whitewater Ramble.

Also, if I remember last year, there was another bar in town with after festy shows.

I plan on catching Packway on Sat.

They will have a special guest guitar player for that show, Doug Baker.

The usual guitar player will not be on tour during that time due to some family responsibilities. Frown

I'm sure Doug will do great, though! pickin

I don't know about Moongrass losing money, I think it has more to do with the construction of the new Wildflower pavilion not being completed in time for bookings.

Regardless, there's plenty to do in town, as others mentioned.  Jake Schepps and Expedition will have their CD Release Party at the TAARKA House on Thursday night. That is sure to be an excellent show and I can't wait to pick up my copy of Ten Thousand Leaves! The place is located at 924 4th Ave in Lyons and you can contact Jake at his website for more info: http://www.jakeschepps.com

It is now posted on the website that Moongrass will not be happening... Rolleyes  But hey, I guess that means the campgrounds will be that much more lively.

Well, I think I can convince The Squash Blossom Boys to pick a set in Meadow Park Friday night after the main stage set.  Come by, bring an instrument and join in!
