Anyone have any idea what this set entails? Is it Thile and Fleck playing the music from the movie Thelma & Louise or is Thelma & Louise a band that they're sitting in with? I've tried searching online for any clues but all I get is  either the movie or other websistes listing the TBF Lineup.

It's just the name they've come up with for their duo. It'll be them playing just about whatever they want. Some originals, some covers, some singing (from Chris, I don't think we'll see Bela sing again for a while), and some picking. Maybe even a few guests. I bet Bela will do a tribute to Earl in this set.  Cheers

Expect some amazing improvising. Last year during Bela and friends Elks park set they went off. And a few guest would be fun to.  That's the great thing about TBF, anything is possible!!!

I think they did a 45minute completely improvisational set a few years back at Rockygrass. Likely a repeat?

I'm hearing it just Bela & Chris, maybe some guests invited on stage, and close to what they did at Rockygrass.

I definitely seem to recall it being mentioned in the official literature that this would be improvised.

Sorry, just saw this...

Correct.

The two agreed months ago to not speak, not even a word, about the set. They will emerge onto the stage without any planning and commence being masters of their instruments together.

There are no limits to what this set may include....

Personally, I think it's a REALLY exciting concept and am excited to hear what they do.

I speculate that they will improv Freebird, straight into Stairway to Heaven, then end with Wagon Wheel.
