I have spent years camping and hiking around Telluride.
If you are coming in from Maine and you don't mind being Atlas carrying the world on your back for a bit I would recommend to show up with:

Well loved and worn hiking boots/shoes
A wad of $$$$

For camp cooking:
I bring a primus stove. Are you flying and had to leave gas at home?  Pick up the fuel at Ridgway Mountaineering store or at the Pine needle mountaineering in Durango.  Cortez has NO outdoor store Frown  Telluride sells out of gas for stoves fast: and it's pricey.  Grab and extra foam pad for sleeping while you're at it.

Your very own themed Festival Cosumes (at least 3)
Lip balm
Flip Flops
Cowboy Boots (You wearing 'em! Right?)
Down Puffy, warm hats and gloves
Tank top and short and longsleeve Tshirts (or just buy TBF ones!)
Shorts.  Skirts (Males too.)
Sarongs (2)  One to douse in water for the 90degree days.
Rain jacket and pants with full size zippers.
I like my Patagonia Guide pants for foul weather
1 set of med weight long johns
Socks...3 warm 3 hiking

Sexy underwear
Mesh net bag to carry clothes to river and back
Notebook and pen and headlights (2)
3 or 4 season 2 person tent and pad.
Camera
Binoculars
EARPLUGS!
Chamais towel

4 fabric bags of all sizes (2 of which could be airline carry-ons)
Silver Flask
Thermarest cover that converts to chair:  Priceless at camp
Small camp chair
Canvas or rollable straw wide brim hat with chin strap

and MOST IMPORTANTLY
Your wonderful inner beautiful self to SHINE on the mountain

Oh yeah.  One year I left all my airline tickets, keys, extra money, etc etc in a bank deposit box at Alpine Bank.  It was a savior for my mental state of mind leaving my belongings unattended at the festival.

Have a great trip Ms. Maine!  Going to TBF lightweight is a true challenge which I rarely do.  So congratulations to all of you who have done so for years, you inspire us all!

Hi Julie, I thought that was you! Wave  Cortez has the evil empire store (Walmart) and Slavens Tru-Value. Not sure but they probably both have fuel for Primus.
Good list girl! How's your pup? :dog :dog

I love the fact that costumes are near the top of your list.  I can't wait to break out my new chicken suit.  The gorilla suit is just too warm during the daytime...

Why are you wearing the bottom part of the suit??? Just wear the gorilla head, and be cool and free.

Can you bring me a hundred-pack of bend-y straws?  That'll help a ton...

Speaking of which, it occurs to me that there was some sort of bendy straw incident a couple years ago?  I had nothing to do with that, I wear my capers with pride... Wink
