Ferg, and all ye Festivarians, I would like to see Furthur in Telluride.  I'm sure they could do their own gig here, was thinking how nicer it would be for them to experience The Telluride Bluegrass Festival.  Also am sure a vast majority of the Festivarians would be well impressed.  Fairly sure it's too late for this year but ever?  Is it even a vague possibility?

After getting back from SF after seeing furthur for New Years' (and a few thousand other miles on the road this summer), I certainly wouldn't mind testing the new protocol the town council invoked this past summer after (The Buffalo Springfield ran into issues, even though it would never be meant to be anyhow due to cancellation of tour) to see if this could work!!!   Would be nice to not have to drive!   Would be really nice to have a 2-3 day run and perhaps insure there's a day off prior to the first show for Bob & Phil to acclimate.  Maybe it'll never be in the cards due to this ... I've heard rumors they don't like the altitude.

Even if it's not furthur, a 2 day stint by a band/musician of similar note might be well received by the town.  I think Buffalo Springfield would've been VERY WELL received had the timing been a little more favorable to allow a real debate (for the few who would oppose).  Was lucky to catch them in Oakland the day before the first furthur Shoreline shows ... with Gillian Welch to boot!

CT:  yeah, any incarnation of Bob or Phil would be well received by many.  Looking forward to Phil's new lineup in Broomfield next month ... Scofield in particular.  I kind of wonder if Jerry was still with us, would he have made an appearance at the TBF as some point by now?   I think yes, but probably a very stealthy sit in.

Boy those NYE shows were incredible, huh?

I think those were definitely the best Furthur shows I've seen so far.

I think Jerry would have made an appearance, since some of the other Old and in the Way guys come.

Is grisman a possibility for the fest, or does he just do Rockygrass?

Yeah, how bout that Jack Straw opener 2nd night!!!

OAITW would be my guess, but just not sure if they would've took a chance on having 5k extra people show up?

Seems Grisman has made a regular appearance every few years or so ... was thinking Jerry would've sat in with someone like him, Tony Rice, Rowan, etc.

Craig, thank you. My life was changed by Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and has grown and evolved because of it. I now have a whole new family because of this forum and this wonderful cyber-connection we all have to the music and each other. I will come for as long as I can, and when the time comes that I can no longer be there physically, I will be there in my heart and soul every June. Thank you for always being there for me. I promise to always be there for you.  With love and gratitude, Cindy Lou
