Does it exist, are there jam circles, concerts held? Can anyone clue me into this? We are considering a move to that area.

I don't live around there so I don't know about the picking scene, but I know that Steve's Guitars in Carbondale gets some good shows.  Just a quick look at their schedule and I see there are shows listed for Martha Scanlan and for Sweet Sunny South.  http://www.stevesguitars.net

There is a jam in Carbondale on Sundays I think...anyone help me out on when and where?

There is another jam on Mondays in Edwards at the Main Street Grill from 9-12pm. It's a good group of local musicians from around the Eagle/Vail area, all abilities.

There are bluegrass shows at the Colorado Hotel in Glenwood from time to time, and on Aspen Mountain all summer.
