Every year I look forward to the surprises those lovely folks on the Planet serve up. I always come away from this festival with something I've never heard before that I suddenly can't live without. This year it was the Steeldrivers. If I'm not hearing it though the speakers I'm singing it. Can't get enough of the cd I bought there so I'm off to Music Millienium to see if I can find more.

Thank you for bringing them and everything you do to foster such an enormously good time. Hooray for all the Planet staff!!!

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

I'll second that emotion.  Can't wait to see the Steeldrivers again somewhere soon!

I'm with you as well. We had done a little research before going to TBF and were not disappointed in what we heard live. We will seek them out as they tour.

The Steeldrivers were AWESOME.  I had heard their record before their set at Telluride and had really high expectations.  Im happy to say that they definitely fulfilled those expectations and, I agree, can't wait to see them again right soon :)

Good call Planet Bluegrass!

these guys have been my favorite new bluegrass group since last year when my uncle sent me their cd.  when pbg announced them in december (i think), it was an immediate excitement for me, and i started looking forward to june so much more!  their set at telluride did not disappoint, they are so soulful and talented, and their lyrics are fantastic.  i just checked their website and was disappointed that they will not be in denver anytime soon!  come back to colorado!!!

The Steeldrivers play a lot in Tennessee and the surrounding areas. I have heard them before and knew it would be a "do not miss" set. They did not disappoint. There's a wealth of real bluegrass bands in this neck of the woods and the PB folks would not have to dig around much to find lots more where the Steeldrivers came from. Hopefully, they'll keep bringing in new faces. My favorite group that I hadn't heard was The Lovell Sisters. Killer show!

How could they not be good? A couple of the guys are big St. Louis Cardinals fans!  Cheers
