Hi! We have never camped in the on site vehicle area before. What is it like there? Are there lots of RV's and generators, or is it still a good place to camp with a teardrop? Would we be able to put a tent next to our teardrop?

We have 3 kids (1, 4, 6) who are seasoned campers and have tent camped at Mary Ilium before for TBF. Are we better off in the tent-only on site area, or is the vehicle area with a teardrop better for kids?

If the gates don't open until Thursday morning, when do we need to get in line to get a good campsite?

Thanks!

If you're going to use a trailer (tear-drop) you'll need to get in line when it starts or you'll find it very difficult to maneuver when everyone is trying to get into the onsite area all at once.
Generators are forbidden on site.
It's not so bad if you have a camper, but anything you have to tow will be a hindrance.
It would be better for the little ones than a tent though as it would be less noisy at night.
There's actually two separate areas of the onsite. One is for tents only and the other is for tents and vehicles.
I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling the vehicle pass if you decide to tent camp.
