Got a crew from Damascus, VA making the road trip for our third bluegrass!

Hey Carry! Where y'all camping?

Auntie Hope

We are at Lawson Hill. What part of Virginia are you coming from?

Hi, Virginia folks! I'm coming from east of Richmond as part of a massive road trip to go live in California. :) are y'all driving as well?

Also, I do still have the tarp line question as someone else mentioned. As a single, is there any point in doing it?

Thanks, y'all!

Also, thanks for the help- I am camping at the High School :)

If you are flying solo, there really is no need for a tarp. There's always room for one more on someone else's tarp, so just introduce yourself and ask if they mind if you hang out for a while.

As a group of five, it will be harder to find open space during some parts of the day. You will find at several points during the day that many tarps will be empty and you can occupy them until the owner gets back, but for some sets, like Yonder, you'll have a difficult time finding a spot for five.  If you don't care about being up close, you can skip the tarp line and just bring a tarp in with you when the gates (after the run) and put it down somewhere in the back.

Hooch is very correct on this matter.
Tell us you have, at the very least, started your gear list... have a staging area started, been shopping for that PERFECT low back chair, have set the tent up (twice) to check and air out (or confirmed your reservation three times in the last 30 days), tested the cook stove, washed & fluffed the sleeping bags, considered your tarpage needs (see Festivarian Dictionary)...

...and have made a list of stores to find your new winter coat for your summer vacation!!! (this is not a joke!)

Hi from California, can't wait for our first TBF. Just wanted to make sure I'm interpeting correctly that non low back chairs can be behind the soundboard? I've got a wife with knee issues and a low seat isn't a good option. Being back a bit isn't a bother. Thanks.

Pretty much correct- there's a sign/path after the first upfront section that indicates where non low back chairs are welcome. And you're not too far away from the stage.
