It's grapple, which is like snow cone ice. Rain is hard, with wind, strong wind, then 20 seconds later the sun comes out, right before the rest of the storm blows in and you get freezing rain, then snow.
When you head into the CC the sun will be out, or setting. When you walk out, no sun and most of the time, no warmth. Carry your gear with you at all times is what we preach, and we preach it for a reason. We don't want you to be caught off guard and end up with, sunburn, wet clothing when the temps drop, or no warm clothing at night.
