This is great information.  Thanks, guys!  I might take you up on the walk-through.  Let me see if I can figure it out, though.  I'm going to try to find some time this weekend to play around with this stuff.

For those who just want to listen to streams of concert recordings without all the downloading, in addition to archive.org,http://tela.sugarmegs.org has an incredible archive of recordings going back several decades of all types of music, including TBF recordings.  While you can download mp3 format directly from sugarmegs, it does not contain all the embedded track information for individual songs that archive and etree provide.  They're just one complete file for an entire concert.  There is software that will automatically break up the individual songs, the track information is not there.  But it is really simple for just streaming and listening. You'll be amazed at the stuff you can find on there.

Have some first/nightgrass also....need to find a few more, but this will be the fastest I've gathered this much.  Bring me a 16-32 GB USB key at Rockygrass and I'll load it up in the campground for you

Linds, I use a program called UTorrent to download the flac files. I have UTorrent save the files in a specific folder. Then I use another program called Format Factory to convert them to mp3s, which you can then import into ITunes or whatever player you use. There was a kind person on this board that showed me how to do this a while back. Send me a PM if you want some help walking through it.

                      This is what I use and it works great for me.  We could not make it to the fest this year, but I have enjoyed listening to the recordings and can picture the scene.  Thanks so much to the tapers who have posted all these great sets.

There's a cloud method, too: uploading FLACs to Google Music (where they are accessible to any Internet-connected device) works well. If I want to make a CD, Google has already converted the FLACs to high bitrate mp3 that I can download for burning.

And there's the missing Andrew Bird *and* Peter Rowan.   In time to add them to the heap I'll have on my laptop at Rockygrass.  It looks like it will be just under 16 GB, soanyone tracking me down with a USB key can get a copy of just about everything (multiple copies in some cases! )
