Ugh.  Just looking at Billboard Magazine's Top 100 Songs of 1973 makes me realize why the Fest was started.  Some of these songs are SO lame!  And most can be found playing in an elevator near you!

Thank god for the original Festivarians!!!

I'll still take 1973 "pop" over modern day popular music - in a heart beat!  Maybe that's why Mumford is getting such a big hype, a lot of kids these days may have never heard acoustic instruments.

Regardless, in 1973 the Grateful Dead were in their prime & what we now term "classic rock" was being born ...
