Hi everyone,

My mom and I have gone to Folks Fest since before PB bought the land. (I have pictures of us and about 6 other tents in the onsite camping area the first year on the land...and that was it that year!). But we have never been to RockyGrass and my mom is a huge bluegrass fan, so this year we switched. We are going to day-trip from Fort Collins.

What do we need to know about the differences? I know Folks has been getting busier each year, is that about what RG has always been like or is it a whole new level of crazy?

We have decided we are both getting too old for camping lines, camping, and land rush lines. Last year we day-tripped Folks for the first time, after years of wee hour waiting for numbers, and giving away tarp line numbers to "festival friends" each year, and we ended up having really good "number karma" and were able to get a small spot in the shade, or on the day we didn't get a number, find a small corner between tarps, big enough for our two chairs and a small cooler.

We were hoping to do the same this year, but I don't know many people that go to RockyGrass. We also might just spend a good bit of time in the Wildflower, if that is similar to Folks.

Any hints (or connections) that anyone can provide would be most welcome!

BTW, if anyone remembers many years ago, my mom was one of the juried tie-dye vendors at Philly Folk Fest for years.  Charlotte's Original DyeWorks though I don't know if they called it that, then.

Thanks,

Lisa and Charlotte
